Not only does strength training increase bone density it also balances posture, increases our bodies ability to burn calories and decrease body fat stores.
- Don’t focus on a weighing scales: Don’t associate a lighter weight with having a sexier figure or equating to fat loss. Sometimes weight loss results in an unhealthy shape, symmetry and posture. Scale watching can become addictive and overused we don’t see the necessary weight loss it can really demotivate us and will we throw the scales and our commitment to improving our lifestyle straight out the window. Sometimes exercise can lead to increase in bodyweight while providing us with a more toned and shapely figure
- Try not to Spot Target: - Don’t just focus in on one area of the body to tone up such as the stomach or bum. Concentrate on the body as a whole and receive the benefit of increasing our body’s ability to burn calories at rest.
- Be Consistent: - Consistency is the key ingredient to achieving ones goals. Try not to become a weekend warrior as it gets closer to ones beach holiday. Consistency will lead to a habit of exercise, once the habit starts the fun starts.
